One thing leads to another...

Last month we asked you to pray. God Answered!

If you remember, Last Spring, we had some adverse weather. One rainfall was exceptionally heavy which resulted in a flooded yard, damage to our creek and once again a flooded basement. After the clean up of the basement and yard, we consulted with many different individuals on what we should do to correct this issue. We were seeing erosion happen at each turn in the creek and at one turn, which is near the garage of Harbor Home, it was taking the bank and trees with each flash flood.

So last month, we asked you to pray that God would give us wisdom on how to proceed with correcting this issue. We didn’t want to fix it temporarily as that just wastes money. Well, GOD DID ANSWER!

He gave us connections to people who work for the county. They sent volunteers from FEMA to give of their time and expertise. Also, our son-in-law was here to help out as well. They cleared three log jams in the creek bed. This will allow the rushing water to flow easily now to the lake. Also, we purchased “Junk Rock”. This rock consists of large boulders and rocks which we dumped into the area of concern… the turn by our garage area. We had 8 loads put into this corner. Now we have gained more footage to that area, hopefully saving the trees as well. We will see how this holds during the rains in the Spring. We are very hopeful.

A backhoe was in the area helping a neighbor with his yard. The neighbor needed to get rid of some of his dirt. We gladly took it which allowed us to complete the area in the front of the house. We had him remove some trees that were blown down last Spring and redirect the creek in the back of our property a bit. We feel so blessed (and tired) but mostly blessed! Thank you for praying with us on this critical issue.

Other Exciting news!

This past Sunday, we had the privilege of witnessing and participating in the baptism of Tony and his wife Tori. There is great joy in knowing that your kids love the Lord and we were thrilled that we were able to be there for them testifying to Gods work in their lives… OVERJOYED. Pastor JT baptized Tori and Dave had the privilege to baptize our son!

Also, Preston and Stephanie and their four kids, are presently at 83% of their recommended support. They are preparing to leave for Asia Pacific March 2020! They are needing to be at 100% by the time they leave, so please pray that they meet this requirement soon. If you are interested in their future ministry, you can contact them at preston_nichols@ntm.org or stephanie_nichols@ntm.org. We will certainly miss them but also are so proud of them using their lives to reach the unreached in this part of the world.
